A man came along some time ago, he had some things to say
Some simple words of good advice, to help us on our way
But some just didn’t listen, or they simply chose to ignore
So they still tread over others, as they help themselves to more

We see those men who like to play God, but who bully and oppress
They make their own rules, and behave like fools, and cause so much distress
They do not heed the good advice, that Jesus came to tell
Those simple words of common sense, that save us all from Hell

Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you, it’s easy to understand
Don’t do things that you wouldn’t want done to you, don’t misuse your hand
The talents that we have, we must learn to use, with responsibility
Don’t abuse what God gave you to use, in the way you choose to be

Life is so amazing, we’re lucky to be here
To be able to enjoy all the things we can do, is a privilege so dear
So use what you have to do good things, be nice and be fair
Make us proud of what you are, by showing that you care

Care about our life, and care about our world
And care about the things that you do
Care about our goals, and care about our souls
And care about all that is true
Deal with the hate, and the things that separate
And don’t do things that are cruel
And if you’re not sure, about the road you’re on
Remember the man’s simple rule

When your time comes, to stand before the man
What would he say to you?
Would you feel good, about the way you are
And all the things that you do
Just treat other people, as you'd like them to treat you
And think about what you do
Then you can say, you can hold your head up high
And you'll feel good that you try
Not to make others cry
