General Aims: The Crosstalk Project aims to try and highlight various issues with a view to achieving improvement for people in as many areas as possible. Many of the issues are serious and open to a wide level of potential improvement. This project is designed to be constructive and caring and we hope that the relevant people will have the time to consider the points and proposals put forward, although this hasn't been the case so far. The Crosstalk Foundation is aimed at serving people in general to the best of its ability and be part of a constructive and useful relationship with the elements that matter, highlighting the current lack of democracy and personal autonomy.
Crosstalk? Crosstalk is an electrical engineering term relating to the leakage of information from one channel to another, individual to individual, the murmur of discontent, and the whisper in the street. The communication, and quality of this information, is of prime importance in achieving positive change for our future. A future which aims to try and keep everybody happy. The Crosstalk Project proposes a new and up to date political system and more say for the individual in the street. The right to personal independence and personal autonomy and a recognition that we pay the government and local authorities to do what we want them to do, and not what we don't want them to do.
Principles: The Crosstalk Project promotes a prime guideline, that is.... 'You can
have who and what you like out of life - as long as you don't tread on who and what you like to get it!' Its principles relate to consideration, education and individual choice. It regards freedom of choice as being paramount and finds itself greatly at odds with the paradox of living in a so-called democratic society in which we have absolutely no say in what goes on, even in our own road. Part of the aim of the Crosstalk Project is to try and help towards changing this by demonstrating that, nowadays, especially, it is possible for all people to have some consideration and some say in the way we manage our society.
Out Of Date! Our current political system is old hat, archaic and out of date. It may have been cutting edge at one time, but that was when the most rapid form of communication was a piece of paper transported by a person on horseback. All things have moved on since then. All things except our political system and mindset, that is. Many people are unhappy about the fact that local authorities and governments alike, ignore the strength of opinion, often acting in a way that is contrary to what people would like to see. Despite the mess they make, no one is ever accountable! Matters are made worse when these actions are reinforced by the might of the law, regardless of whether it is right or wrong.
Plenty Of Room! It is easy to be herded by those in a position of power, be it the architects of religion, communism, or so-called democracy. The Crosstalk Project believes society should encompass the consideration of all people and all life, as should religion, constitute a fair sharing of wealth and resource, as should communism, and give room for an equal say for all people on all issues, as should democracy. We will never have peace where we have discontentment. We will never have contentment where we have inequality and inconsideration. In a world where money is God, politicians consistently fail to deliver, war persists, and death, misery and heartache, resulting from man's action and inaction is all around, there is always plenty of room for improvement!
Summation 2026
Rogue Traders! This project has gathered and documented significant evidence, over a number of years, that those in authority are absolutely not interested in taking any notice of the people they are supposed to be serving; that is, the people paying their wages. They have consistently shown disregard for people's feelings, the democratic view, common sense, and publicly-backed good ideas. The attitude they express is reflected in the significant mess the ordinary people feel that they have made of social management on our behalf.
Normal Service! We have seen a running down of services and a degradation of infrastructure and facilities. Significant public money wasted on things people don't want and say they don't want; publicly-funded schemes that make things worse and make life more difficult for people. The exceptionally poor level of service and competence from those we pay to manage our society is a form of abuse, especially when they blatantly ignore public concern, yet our authorities patently expect the general public to accept it and put up with it as normal service!
Improvement? It is very clear that, if we are to improve our society, and make it more efficient, a significant change in attitude, mindset and mentality will be required from those in charge. As governments and local authorities are primarily there to serve the people, they should be staffed and managed by public servants, and not autocratic, arrogant, rogue traders, who behave like bullies, helping themselves to public funds and doing what THEY like. For what people pay, they deserve a lot better than what we currently have! Time for some improvement?
Some Starting Points:
- A recognition from those in authority that the public pay the bill and are the ultimate employers. That is, the public are the boss!
- Less arrogance from those in authority. They don't always know best, as proven over many years, by the current state of things
- More consideration of what the people would like to see and want, and a power of veto to prevent what they don't want
- A mechanism for quick and efficient forwarding of good ideas from the public. Yes, the public do have them!
- A mechanism for public voting on schemes and issues, both locally and nationally
- Encouragement to get people more involved in improving what we have
